Newly-appointed Federal Territory Umno liaison committee chairman Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor said they would draw up a more intensive strategy to ensure BN would be able to win back the Lembah Pantai, Batu, Segambut, Bandar Tun Razak and Wangsa Maju seats which were won by the opposition in the 2008 general election.
In the last general election, BN won ONLY four parliamentary seats in the Federal Territories, comprising Putrajaya, Labuan, Titiwangsa and Setiawangsa.
Kepong and Bukit Bintang are considered DAP strongholds.
Tengku Adnan, who is Federal Territories Minister, said he would hold a meeting with leaders of BN component parties in the Federal Territories to work out the new strategy.
Speaking to reporters after the breaking of fast here last night, Tengku Adnan said his appointment was not new as he had held the post in 2001.
On the Umno Supreme Council elections on Oct 5, Tengku Adnan said he had no intention of contesting for any post in the party.
As for his present post as Umno secretary-general, he said he was leaving the matter to party president Najib Tun Razak whether or not to have him retain the post.
