Cops not behind Sanjeevan shooting: Why is Zahid so quick to deny, is probe over?

Cops not behind Sanjeevan shooting: Why is Zahid so quick to deny, is probe over?
Police were not involved in the shooting of MyWatch chairman R. Sri Sanjeevan, said Home Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

He denied rumours that police were behind Sanjeevan's shooting, saying he would ensure investigations were accelerated and those responsible arrested.

"I know Sanjeevan personally and I will make sure that there are no police involved in the incident," he said.

Ahmad Zahid said this to reporters after breaking fast at the Sungai Buloh prison.

In yesterday's incident, Sanjeevan, 29, was shot after lowering the window of his silver BMW to smoke.

Police believe that a pillion rider on a motorcycle opened fire on Sanjeevan in the 4.30pm incident at a junction near Taman Awana Indah in Bahau, Negri Sembilan.

Prior to the incident, Sanjeevan had tweeted: "A @PDRMsia cop told some syndicate fellow that he'll get them firearms & told them to fire few shots at my house to scare me/family!"

At the same event, Ahmad Zahid also elaborated on the issue of PAS leaders who were alleged to practise Syiah teachings.

"We are looking at this from the aspect of national security.

"As the party leaders have already denied the allegations, then there is no need to continue debating the issue.

"On this matter, we will let the party decide for themselves. If it is true that their members are involved, then they can decide and punish their own," he said.
