PAS questions source of hundreds of millions spent by BN at Kuala Besut

The move by Barisan Nasional (BN) to initiate ad-hoc projects and provide aid, that collectively amounts to hundreds of millions of ringgit, during the by-election campaign period is being questioned by PAS.
PAS’s election director Dr. Hatta Ramli asked where the funds were being sourced from... the state or federal governments.
BN has to date announced 10 projects and provision of aid to Kuala Besut’s residents that totals up to an estimated RM387,490,750.
One of the new projects planned by BN is the RM250 million river dredging project to the estuary of Sungai Besut and the construction of a seawall.
PAS, however, has claimed that all the projects proposed by BN for the coastal town was the result of the Islamic party's ceaseless campaign in highlighting the state government’s shortcomings.
Hatta criticised BN for consistently resorting to making development plans only during times of crisis and with a by-election around the corner.
“We implore the residents of Kuala Besut to reflect and ponder what would the situation be should Pakatan not be around. BN would most likely continue to neglect the people,” he added.
