Post-NFC, some Umno Wanita folk want Shahrizat replaced

Umno Wanita chief Shahrizat Abdul Jalil seems to have problems within the movement as some see the National Feedlot Corporation (NFC) issue as affecting her reputation and therefore, want her to be replaced.

Batu Pahat Umno Wanita chief Hasliza Abdullah, said the NFC issue is why some members, who previously were Shahrizat supporters, are now wanting to see her replaced.

“NFC is the reason why Wanita Umno members who previously supported Shahrizat now feel the post should be held by other individuals. We do not want to see the movement being overshadowed by the fiasco,” she was quoted as saying in Berita Harian.
 
Hasliza said in line with democracy in Umno, former Puteri Umno leader Azalina Othman (right) has the right to challenge and contest the number one post.

However, she said whether this is the right time for the transformation of the movement is also questionable as she is unsure whether Azalina will be able to bring about the change or otherwise.

Shahrizat is embroiled in the NFC issue as her husband was a shareholder in the company following the various exposes made by PKR director of strategy Rafizi Ramli, who is also Pandan MP.

She has filed a defamation suit against Rafizi and PKR Wanita chief Zuraida Kamaruddin.

The same daily also reported that no candidates want to challenge incumbent Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin Abu Bakar.

It was previously reported that Johor Umno Youth had urged that all posts within the movement be contested.
