SIBU TRIPLE MURDER: Girl had paid tribute to dad who killed her

SIBU TRIPLE MURDER: Girl had paid tribute to dad who killed her
The 14-year-old-girl, who is believed to have been killed by her father in Sibu, Sarawak, had paid tribute to him on Father's Day.
"My father is the most ordinary daddy in the world. He is an ordinary man but he is great! Happy Fathers Day!" Christine Tiang posted on her Facebook page then.
People in town were stunned by the case of the 43-year-old contractor surnamed Tiang, who allegedly killed his wife Ling Yung Ming, 40, and two of their children - Christine and her two-year-old brother, Victor - last Friday, reported Malaysia's The Star.
Their eldest son, 17-year-old Vincent, escaped by jumping out of a window on the second floor of their house in Pulau Li Hua.
Tiang was said to have gassed to death Madam Ling, Christine and Victor in the master bedroom after giving them sleeping pills. Vincent did not take the pill.
Letters
Five handwritten letters - written by Madam Ling over several days before the murder - were recovered after a police team led by senior investigation officer Yeoh Chun Shyan took Tiang back to his home on Sunday.
The team checked the entire house for about 30 minutes before Tiang, who appeared calm, led them to the study room on the ground floor.
It was there that they found the letters. Tiang also led the team to a sundry shop near his home.
The shop was closed. It is understood that it was from there that he had bought two cooking gas cylinders on the day of the murder.
He had earlier used three tanks on the victims but they were not enough to kill them.
Police also made stops at two other shops where Tiang bought sleeping pills and weed killer.
After allegedly killing his family, Tiang had tried to hang himself with a belt but failed. He then wanted to kill himself with the weed killer but could not bring himself to swallow it.
Just 18 months ago, Madam Ling's mother, 36-year-old brother and two of his children were allegedly murdered.
A 17-year-old boy, who is a neighbour, is facing charges for the deaths.
