Rizal: Don’t harass Rosmah

Datuk Rizal Mansor© Provided by MToday News Sdn Bhd Datuk Rizal MansorPETALING JAYA: Don’t harass Rosmah Mansor as she was only present in Parliament as an observer, says Rizal Mansor, aide to the prime minister’s wife.
“Datin Seri Rosmah is not a parliamentarian; she was only present as an observer.
“What could the Opposition MPs have gained from disturbing Datin Seri Rosmah?” Rizal asked in a brief statement today.
This was in response to recent reports that Tanjong MP Ng Wei Aik had asked “who is the wife of MO1” while passing by Rosmah in Parliament during the Opposition’s walkout last Friday when the 2017 Budget was being tabled.
Ng had claimed that Rosmah replied: “Yes, I am. You think I am scared of you?”
Rosmah was seated behind the Opposition lawmakers in the House while her husband, Prime Minister Najib Razak, tabled the 2017 Budget.
“They should have focused on the budget presentation in Parliament that would later be debated.
“The Budget was presented as part of the government’s responsibility to fulfil the needs of the nation and people, not the Opposition’s desires, and neither is it a space for their political stunts in walking out,” Rizal said.
“Don’t waste your time disturbing observers in Parliament.”
Rizal also slammed DAP MP Tony Pua for describing civil servants as a “dead weight” burdening the government.
“To me, this insults the dignity of civil servants and their families.
“Paying the salaries of those who leave the hall during the budget presentation can also be considered a waste.
“Although he may have a differing opinion on the size of the government workforce, YB Tony has no right to use such insulting words,” Rizal said.
