Dr M open to probe if same applies to PM

Former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad said he was willing to cooperate with the newly formed task force to investigate Bank Negara's losses at the foreign exchange market in the 1990s.
This was on condition that authorities apply the same level of scrutiny on Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak's handling of the 1MDB controversy, he said.
"The police and Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission can come to meet me. I can answer. They can ask.

"(They) can even charge me in court. But charge Najib as well," he said when met at a PKR function in Bandar Tun Razak today.
Of late, Umno leaders have resurrected the controversy surrounding Bank Negara's RM30 billion losses incurred following disastrous speculating activities on the forex market during the early 1990s.
Mahathir was prime minister at the time. No one was brought to book over the incident.
