Police are probing Nurul Ilham Anwar for her participation in a candlelight vigil held more than two years ago to support her father and jailed opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim.
The probe is in response to a police report lodged by deputy chief of the Klang Selatan Police Station on the night the candlelight vigil was held on Feb15, 2015.
Nurul Ilham is being investigated under Section 9 of the Peaceful Assembly Act for not giving prior notice to the police 10 days before the event.
An investigating officer came to the PKR headquarters at Merchant Square, Petaling Jaya, to record a statement from her.
However, the 33-year-old Nurul Ilham chose to remain silent during the 10-minute encounter.
"I was shocked because I was questioned (by police) for attending a peaceful assembly almost two and a half years ago," she told a press conference later.
"I view this as yet another oppression against us, the family of Anwar Ibrahim, who stand committed in an agenda to free him," she said.
Nurul Ilham took part in the candlelight vigil at Padang Chetty Klang just five days after the former opposition leader was found guilty of sodomising his former aide, Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan and was slapped with a five-year jail term by the Appeals Court.
