MP told to withdraw 'corrupted minister' remark against Ku Nan

PARLIAMENT | Tan Kok Wai (DAP-Cheras) was instructed to retract the word "corrupted minister" by Dewan Rakyat speaker Pandikar Amin Mulia today.
During the Budget 2018 debate today, Tan brought up the contentious sale of a plot of land by Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL), and linked it to Federal Territories Minister Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor.
The DAP lawmaker had alleged earlier this month that DBKL had sold the plot of land to an "Umno crony" at below market value, which the Federal Territories Ministry later denied.

"Since the current minister took office after 2013 poll, from 2013 to June 2015, a total of 45 pieces of prime land totalling 228.08 acres (approximately 92ha) owned by DBKL had been sold.
"These lands are leased to banks, and later sold to developers for a price that is two or three times higher," he added.
"For your information, many of the people of Kuala Lumpur no longer see the minister as the honourable minister, but as a corrupted minister.
"No ill intent on my part, but this is the impression and perception of the public," said Tan, who is also the DAP national chairperson.
His remark drew the ire of BN lawmakers in the House, who immediately stood up to slam him.
The speaker then instructed Tan to retract his remark, threatening to eject Tan from the House or halt the debate if he refused to comply.- Mkini
