PETALING JAYA: Two officers of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission were arrested by religious officers after they were found together in a condominium in Seri Kembangan early Saturday (Dec 16).
A source at the Selangor Islamic Affair Department (Jais) confirmed that an arrest was made during an operation at about 3am in Seri Kembangan.
The source said the operation involved four enforcement officers from Jais.
“Investigations are ongoing on two individuals who were detained,” the source said when asked if both were officers at MACC.
The source added that a statement would be issued on the case. A source at the MACC said it had not be notified of the arrest.
It is learnt that the two suspects were found in “close proximity” in a condo unit in Taman Esquire.
It is also learnt the male suspect holds the position of director in one of the departments in MACC while the woman is attached to the MACC chief commissioner’s office.
