Dr M gets special mention in PAS-led Gagasan's manifesto

Pakatan Harapan chairperson Dr Mahathir Mohamad received a special mention in Gagasan Sejahtera's manifesto which was unveiled by PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang tonight.
The former prime minister was mentioned when the manifesto touched on oil royalty payments to Kelantan and Terengganu.
It read: "Return the oil royalty payments owed to the Kelantan and Terengganu governments which were seized at the beginning of the era of the fourth prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad".
The manifesto also promised to increase the oil royalty to 20 percent for states that qualify.
It will also seek to increase federal grants and decentralise federal power to the states.
These were contained in the seventh core of the manifesto.
In total, the manifesto presented 20 promises on top of more detailed promises comprising 52 items in seven core aspects.
Among other highlights were promises to ensure separation of powers in requiring the MACC to periodically report the outcome of its investigations to a Parliament committee and the formation of a People's Ombudsman.
It also proposed to replace the Goods and Services Tax (GST) with a new tax on corporate savings and transactions on Bursa Malaysia of which it will allocate 25 percent for the bottom 40 percent of income earners.
The manifesto also promised the liberalisation of the approved permits (AP) scheme and the introduction of a new method of car ownership including leasing.
Furthermore, it also proposed to popularise discount cards and vouchers for public transportation use.
The manifesto was unveiled at a function in Cyberjaya tonight.
Representatives from Parti Ikatan Bangsa Malaysia (Ikatan) and Barisan Jemaah Islamiah Se-Malaysia (Berjasa), components of the Gagasan Sejahtera, were present.
